We have been personally visiting, researching and evaluating residential rehab clinics and detoxification centres around the world since 2003. When we make a suggestion, it comes from first-hand, accurate experience of that particular facility.
Getting the right rehab centre is all about understanding all your needs and requirements ahead of time. The two initial criteria are your budget and the amount of time you can spend in a residential environment. Once these are established we match the most suitable facility to you or your loved one, based upon history and culture — we need to ensure the clinic has residents your loved one can identify with, and a positive recovery culture they can join.
Finding the most suitable clinic can be extremely confusing and stressful, especially when admission is urgent. We remain an impartial partner in choosing the best rehab fit for your specific requirements — any facility we recommend, we have personally visited and vetted. Full transparency: our founder Ian Young also serves as Managing Director of the Holina Global network, so where a Holina destination is a genuine fit we will say so — and where it isn’t, we will recommend elsewhere.

DETOX PLACEMENT
When detox comes first
Residential detox is the starting point for most people. Before engaging in any significant treatment, the body must first reach abstinence safely. The best and safest way to achieve this is in a residential detox facility, away from home, where normal patterns and distractions can be avoided. Most residential rehabs (though not all) include a detoxification service as part of their process — we advise on this and help you choose the most suitable centre for your requirements.
Important: never attempt alcohol or narcotic detox without proper medical supervision. Unmedicated withdrawal can cause severe medical consequences, including seizures. Get appropriate medical help before attempting detox by yourself.

We’ve built and run rehabs ourselves
Before today’s Holina network, Ian Young founded The PARC — the Phuket Addiction Recovery Clinic — a private 12-Step residential clinic in the Kathu Valley, and created Platinum in Phuket, a fully bespoke one-to-one rehab service running since 2008. Before that, he built two UK residential rehabs from the ground up. This is advice from people who have sat on every side of the admissions desk.
