Naltrexone Implants

Sober Services is delighted to have a direct relationship with the only legal provider and installer of Naltrexone Implants in the UK.

Naltrexone Implants are not for everyone, but for many heroine and opiate users it can be a real solution. Furthermore, some alcoholics have the Naltrexone implant installed in order to bring about change in their enjoyment of alcohol – it effectively removes the desire to drink any further.

Follow our simple guided process to find out all the information you need about Naltrexone implants. Hit the button ‘Start Process’ below.

Start Process

If you’re addicted to heroin or some other opiate then you will be required to be free from all opiate (methadone, subtext, codeine, etc) drug use for at least 5 days before the procedure can take place, therefore this is only a post detox option. This is because Naltrexone will send you into immediate full blown opiate withdrawal with potentially very severe consequences to your health if you have any form of opiates in your body – e.g. heroine, methadone, codeine, morphine, subtext, etc.

We are fully capable of providing you with either an inpatient detox or a Home Detox in order to facilitate this.

The assessment and procedure takes approximately 1 hour and you’ll be expected to remain inside the Clinic for a further 30 minutes whilst under observation, just for your safety.

Each long-acting naltrexone preparation lasts approximately 12 weeks in your body, although some clients will have slow and others fast metabolisers, which may respectively increase or reduce precisely just how long the Naltrexone with work.

It is always recommended that you continue Naltrexone Implant treatments for at least 12 months (3 x 4 sessions) to give you the best chance of adapting to your new life abstinent from opiates.

Sober Services manages you throughout the procedure, but it is handled and managed by a third party and therefore the prices are fixed.

What is Naltrexone?

Naltrexone is an opioid receptor antagonist used primarily in the management of alcohol dependence and opioid dependence.
It is marketed in generic form as its hydrochloride salt, naltrexone hydrochloride, and marketed under the trade names Revia and Depade.

Naltrexone should not be confused with Naloxone (which is used in emergency cases of opioid overdose) nor Nalorphine. Using naloxone in place of naltrexone can cause acute opioid withdrawal symptoms; conversely, using naltrexone in place of naloxone in an overdose can lead to insufficient opioid antagonism and fail to reverse the overdose.

Naltrexone helps patients overcome opioid addiction by blocking the drugs’ euphoric effects

What is the Naltrexone Implant?

This is a special formulation of Naltrexone, which is designed to release slowly over a 6-12 week period.
It is placed under the patient’s skin and it releases the Naltrexone in a measured manner thus never allowing the client to forget or skip their medicine.

We highly recommend it for serious opiate addicts who have a genuine desire to quit but are really struggling with the psychological cravings, because it is so effective at simply not permitting the client to use opiates without being violently sick, and therefore teaching them a new pattern of behaviour and showing them how to live without the dependance. Furthermore, because there are zero mood altering effects from the Naltrexone, the client has a real possibility for permanent recovery.
